DILI, 23 september 2022 (TATOLI)- The Association of TANE Consumers is releasing the four-month report on the primary basic needs items.
TANE Consumers President, António Da Silva said TANE should provide the current basic needs prices to the community to access every four months.
“We should provide the current basic needs prices every four months to the public. TANE ensures that all communities have the right to know the current price of basic needs before shopping’’ TANE Consumers President, António Da Silva told journalists at his office, villa Verde, this Friday.
According to da Silva, the survey for the prices was carried out through the survey conducted in 21 supermarkets across Dili municipality within four months.
The 21 super-market in Dili comprising of; First Family supermarket, Dili Mart, Grasa shop, W-fourth shop(hudi Laran), Seara shop ( Bairru Central), Leaders supermarket, Lita Store ( Bidau), B Supermarket ( Vila Verde), Phonic 368 shop, Jacinto shop and others.
TANE’s Economist, Albertina Soares Rodrigues said after completing the price survey in 21 supermarkets, TANE Identified that ‘First Family supermarket’ has the highest prices for basic needs in the last four months of May, June, July, and August.
“We have completed price survey in 21 supermarkets in Dili municipality and we have identified that all the prices of basic needs are higher in the Family First SuperMarket compared to other supermarkets in Dili,” Rodrigues explained
She added that The First Family supermarket set a minimum food price of .56.20 cents in the last four months of April, May, June, July, and August.
