DILI, 11 october 2022 (TATOLI) – The Indonesian Fertilizer Company, Iskandar Muda (IMF) offered 150 head troches and 45 family kits to Timor-Leste Red Cross (TLRC) for emergency use.
Assistance Vice President of Public Relations and Head of the Department of Natural Disasters (IMF), Dedi Ikhsan said this was the first assistance offered by the Company to the Timor-Leste Red Cross: “We offered 45 packages of family supplies and 150 packages of torch heads to TLRC, Dedi Ikhsan told reporters at the CVTL office, Bairru Dos Grillos, this Tuesday.
He explained that the family kits were prepared in the form of packages containing cleaning tools, clothing, and emergency furniture such as bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo bottles, first aid kit towels, body lotion, cleaning wipes, and others.
Ikhsan hopes this support will pave the way for follow-up support from other companies.
“In the future, there will be follow-up support from several other Indonesian fertilizer subsidiaries, about 14 companies will also contribute and cooperate with TLRC,” he said.
At the same time, Ikhsan hopes to provide more support for TLRC in the future.
“Since we are neighboring countries that have an important role and good relations and we who are under the auspices of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) hope to help CVTL in the event of a disaster to provide quick responses and action to help the community. There are no people affected by the disaster whose terms are too late to be handled or too late to get assistance,” he explained.
At the same place the Secretary General of TLRC, Luis Pedro Pinto thanked the Company Iskandar Muda Fertilizer for the support provided to help the community affected by the disaster.
“As we know, geographically TL is in the ring of fire, where disasters always occur every year, so the assistance provided will help meet the existing stock so that we can help communities affected by the upcoming disasters,” he said.
He hopes that this cooperation and friendship can continue, to support those in need.
Prior to the support from the Iskandar Muda Fertilizer company, TLRC has previously received support from PT Pupuk Kaltim including rescue rubber boats for the rescue process.
