DILI 27 october 2022 (TATOLI)- Casa Produsaun Audio Visual (CPA) organized a cinematic and films production competition for 17 Timorese groups that helped to promote young Timorese ability in cinematic and film production.
“This cinematic and movie production competition for the 17 Timorese groups aimed to promote Timorese people who have the skill to be actors of cinematic and movies at the same time to promote young people’s ability to express voiceless people on their desire to others.,’’ The executive of CPA, Rui Nunes Mua Candala told TATOLI in Taibesi, this thursday.
CPA just wishes to facilitate young people to explore their skills to take any possibility to attend a competition at the international level to improve their knowledge through capacity building in other countries.
“CPA will provide an opportunity for the winners to attend capacity building overseas and go international. The competition will be provided in various categories such as the best of actors, the best sound system, the best of audio visual, the best cinema topography, the best of movie makers, and others,”
In the same palace a competitor Zero Production Filmmakers from Dili, Alelo Sarmento said it is a great opportunity provided by CPA to promote young Timorese ability for cinematic and movie production, which is focused on peace and reconciliation.
“I am grateful to take part in this competition, as young people want to express peace and reconciliation to others,’’ He said
Before the competition event CPA is also organizing two days seminar to help young people to gain technical knowledge of cinematic and film production.
So far, there are 80 young Timorese involved in 17 groups taking part in this competition. The groups are composed of young people from municipalities such as Baucau, Same, Maliana, Dili, Lospalos, and others.
The winning group will receive cash award and join in the promotion of the CPA cinema program.
So far this program is funded by the Germany International Organization (GIZ) with a total fund worth 13 thousand USD.
