BELUN-USAID launch Civil Society Organization Sustainable Index

DILI, 20 december 2022 (TATOLI)- Non-Governmental Organization BELUN (NGO) and the United States International Development Agency (USAID) launch the 2021 reports of the Civil Society Organization Sustainable Index (CSOSI).

The report was prepared with the technical support provided by USAID for the development of CSOSI’s 2021 in Timor-Leste.

“ BELUN is a partnership with the U.S. government through USAID to provide technical support and a small grant for the launching of the 2021, Civil Society Organization Sustainable Index. The report focuses on important dimension subject composed of Advocacy, financial sustainability, Civil society organization governance, and others. ’ The Director of BELUN NGO, Luis Ximenes told journalists at JL Village, Ai-mutin, tuesday.

At the launching of the report, Ximenes acknowledged that commonly the local NGO and Civil Society always depend on financial support from development partners such as USAID and the government through Institutions providing Civil Society and Auditory social service (SASKAS).

“The BELUN also recognized that the CSOSI’s report is not reached the targets in 2021 due to covid-19 but We are proud of the outstanding international donors and government through SASKAS for civil society development,”

United Nations Charge Affair in Timor-Leste, Tom Daley said the U.S. government through USAID is proud to support the Civil Society Organization Sustainable Index (CSOSI) for all non-government (NGO) in Timor-Leste.

‘’U.S is grateful to support all NGO’s CSOSI in Timor-Leste and the government also has provided support for the 97 countries across the country, while for the launching of the index report in Timor-Leste, USAID provided over $50.000 and USAID is committed to providing more financial amounts of 9.5 million USD for the other nine NGOs to run their program in the future,”
