DILI, 04 january 2023 (TATOLI) – National Petroleum and Minerals Authority (ANPM) rebidding the new companies for the construction of the National Library in Timor-Leste.

ANPM’s Local Content manager, Estanislau Salsinha Martins said the working group of the National Authority for Petroleum and Minerals (ANPM), the Secretary of State for Arts and Culture (SoSAC), and the international company Eni have started to select a new company for the construction of the National Library.

“We are selected two international companies for the public tender for the construction of the National Library because the selected company rejected to begin the construction project last October,” ANPM’s Local Content manager, Estanislau Salsinha Martins, told Tatoli, via phone.

Martins said that the ANPM, SoSAC, and Eni working groups in cooperation for further discussion of the selection process for the company, a mutual decision is required to be made to decide the company that taking responsibility for the construction.

He said that the ANPM working group will select between two companies yet the decision is still expecting a final discussion result.

Meanwhile, Eni’s company has committed to providing over 10 million US dollars for the project construction.

In addition, the government also provided an additional budget through the Secretary of State Art and Culture (SoSAC) the amount of US$2.3 million for the first phase, which is intended for the Walls construction and Supervision of works.

So far, The launch of the first stone ceremony for the construction took place on august 16, 2017, while a similar ceremony was taking place on the 22nd of July last year and was organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of the VI Constitutional Government.
