Extreme weather caused a delay in the process of being transported the Babadok buses to TL

DILI, 11 january 2022 (TATOLI)- Minister of Transportation and Communication (MTC) said bad weather affected the delay in the process of being transported Babadok buses from China to Timor-Leste.

Minister of Transportation and Communications (MTC) José Agostinho da Silva revealed that the process of transporting three Babadok buses procured by Timorese businesswomen (AEMTL) from China was delayed due to bad weather.

“We assist the procurement process of the three buses from China by a group of businesswomen (AEMTL), the process is ongoing however the buses are yet to transport due to the bad weather,” José Agostinho da Silva told Tatoli at the Government Palace Wednesday.

According to Silva, the MTCI will organize proper a parking stadium that has been mentioned in the agreement between MTC and AEMTL to facilitate public transportation.

At the same time, speaking about the cost of the transportation fee, da Silva said, it has to correspond to Timor-Leste’s economic development.

“Regarding the payment fee, it will be offered to the passengers depending on the Timor-Leste economy development and we do not have fix price,’’ He said.

Previously, the President of Women entrepreneur Timor-Leste (AEMTL), Hergui Luina Alves also stated that the bus is already in the process of being transported to Timor-Leste via the Expedition Company and will arrive in January 2023.

According to Alves, the arrangement of these buses aims to connect Trans-border Transportation between Timor-Leste and Dili to Indonesia “Kupang”. and the operation will begin in january.

The buses are automobiles with wifi connectivity, containing toilets, food, coffee machines, cool boxes, snacks, rest areas, luggage, full air conditioning, and others.
