DILI,13 january 2023 ( TATOLI) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation ( MoFAC) of Timor – Leste, Adaljiza Magno meets the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN), Kao Kum Hourn to request for the support of all members on Timor-Leste’s accession to ASEAN.
” I decided to meet the Secretary General of ASEAN to discuss the support of all ASEAN members on Timor – Leste preparation to become a full member of ASEAN,” Minister Magno explained in a press statement on Friday.
Magno added that the accession of Timor-Leste to ASEAN will be under Indonesia’s leadership.
“We both discuss all achievements that Timor – Leste had achieved and are ready to become a member of ASEAN under Indonesia’s s leadership this year,” she said.
In this opportunity, MoFAC’s s delegation also visit Timor – the Leste s Embassy in Jakarta and was directly received by the Ambassador of Timor – Leste to Indonesia, Filemeno Aleixo da Cruz to inspect the new location of Timor- Leste’s Embassy in Jakarta which is located at Atrium Mulia Jl HR Rasuna Said VK. B 10- 11.
” The new place is large so w will use it to conduct our two mission such as bilateral and multilateral efficiently,” she said.
Magno informed that after return from official work will prepare a new Timor – Leste special envoy to work at the new place in Jakarta to strengthen the bilateral and multilateral cooperation in Jakarta Indonesia.
