DILI, 20 january 2023 (TATOLI) – The trip of the two young Timorese football players to Brazil has been postponed until 19 January, says the National Director of High-Performance Sports of the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports (SoSYS), Maria Luisa.
Two young Timorese football players, Ario Melio and Norberto Olivio Costa from Baucau Football Training Centre had been chosen to participate in a football training session with a Brazilian football club in Sao Paulo, Brazil, known as the Ibiuna Sprot Club.
They were selected after their good performances during the 2022 Youth Cup in Dili.
“They were scheduled to fly on january 20, but unfortunately, they need to complete some essential documents. Thus, their departure was scheduled for january 29,” said Luisa.
She said the cost of travel and accommodation is $13,500: “The government has only paid the cost of travel and accommodation. Once they arrive in Brazil, the club will support the two players with everything.”
Training with Ibiuna Sports Club will help these young players to improve their football skills in the future.
