Alola Foundation provides Business training in Timor – Leste

DILI, 24 january 2023 (TATOLI) – Alola Foundation provide Business training to empower women and girls to develop their business in Timor-Leste.

Speaking to TATOLI the Coordinator of Economics of the program of WAGE in Alola Foundation Ilda da Cruz, said this training will facilitate the Business and Social Support for Female Entrepreneurs in Timor – Leste (BEST).

“With this training, the women entrepreneurship will access the integrated financial and social support to lead the economic growth of entrepreneurs and economic resilient in Timor – Leste,”

Ilda said this training is also to strengthen the capacity of organizations and train the capacity of women to lead the institution and own businesses of microfinance which is handled by the women entrepreneurs in Timor- Leste.

“Training focuses on empowering the ability of trade and financial management and training about access the credit from the bank, money-saving training, budget management, Digital Financial for Women, Health Financing and Access, Digital Innovation for Agriculture in their business successfully,” she explained.

The training on women entrepreneurship was attended by 40 women entrepreneurs from the Municipality of Likisa, Ermera, Dili, and Bobonaro.

So far the training was implemented by Alola Foundation with technical support from the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues ( S/GWI) and the GRAMEN Foundation from the Philippines.

Since the program’s implementation, over 2017 business women have benefited from the WAGE program’s training across the country.
