DILI, 27 january 2023 (TATOLI)- Minister of Agriculture and Fishery (MoAF) will procure 400 units of tractors to help farmers intensify local crop production in 2023.
The National Director of Agriculture and Horticulture, Lucio Ribeiro said in this year Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery (MoAF) will procure more than 400 tractors to support farmers.
“ We will procure 400 more tractors to help farmers for processing agriculture soil and intensify local crops production,’’ The National Director of Agriculture and Horticulture, Lucio Ribeiro told TATOLI Agency, in his office, Comoro, this Friday.
According to Ribeiro these tractors costs over $1.3 million.
“We provide 1.3 million USD for procuring 400 units of the tractor which completely with of spare part can be necessary for cutting grass, that items also can be used for the maintenance,’’ he said.
The 400 units of tractors will be distributed to the municipalities with the largest rice fields with a complete irrigation system.
“MoAF will ensure all municipalities that have rice production potential will receive the tractors,”
MoAF registered 2009 over 294 units of tractors composed of big and medium, while the cost of maintenance for these tractors was 130.000 USD, and the 250.000 USD was used for the procurement of additional materials for the tractors.
