DILI, 27 january 2023 (TATOLI) – The Executive Secretary of the National Program for Village Development (PNDS), Claudinha Soares Pinto said a total of 412 village offices across the country have already been rehabilitated.
“Through this program, a total of 452 village officials would be rehabilitated. We are nearly there of reaching this target. So, we still have 40 more offices to be renovated,” Pinto said in an exclusive interview, at TATOLI, in Dili, today.
She said the rehabilitation of these village offices is expected to be concluded before the end of the administration of the Eighth Constitutional Government.
Pinto added that the renovation of the offices is necessary to facilitate the meeting of the communities.
The Minister of State Administration, Miguel de Carvalho, recalled that most of the village offices were built in the years between 2005 and 2006, saying, therefore, many buildings had been damaged due to natural causes.
