DILI, 30 January 2023 (TATOLI)- Timor-Leste Quality Institute (IQTL ) will purchase three items of product quality testing machines in 2023.
President of IQTL, Rosito de Monteiro, informed that last year his office had processed the budget for the procurement process, however with the problems in the supply process while the proposed budget was also very large, therefore the procurement process was canceled.
“Last year, we did not buy the items, however this year we have provided a total of $105,000 for the procurement of three items of exportation products,” Rosito de Monteiro explained to Tatoli, via phone call, this Monday.
The three items included the items for coffee testing, coconut oil, and mineral water adding that these three items were the top priority because they were following requests from partners and the private sector to carry out tests on the three products of coffee, coconut oil, and mineral water.
“This means that with these three pieces of equipment, we already have a national laboratory,”
In addition, there are specifications of reagents to be mixed to define the quality of the product, instruments for analysis, including equipment for meteorology,” he said.
So far he said, the technical team is currently preparing a proposal to be presented before getting approval and conducting the procurement process.
