Hungarian Ambassador Lilla L. Karsay visits CCI-TL to discuss cooperation in Private Sector

DILI, 02 february 2023 (TATOLI)– The Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste Lilla L. Karsay today held an official visit to the office of the Chamber Commercial Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) to discuss the cooperation in the private sector.

Speaking to TATOLI the Hungarian Ambassador Karsay, explained that the purpose of the meeting with the CCI-TLs s structural was to introduce cooperation in the private sector and other related sectors in which Hungary commit to investing in Timor-Leste.

“I met with the President of CCI – TL Jorge Serano together with his staff to hear directly what the private sector did in Timor – Leste and I will convey to my government and also the private sector to invest in Timor – Leste,” said the Ambassador of Hungary, Karsey at the CCI-TL ‘s office, Akait Dili on Thursday.

She added that this meeting was a preliminary meeting in which the Hungarian Government together with several private sectors will visit Timor – Leste in the coming months to renew the cooperation in the investment sector in Timor – Leste.

“In the meeting, we discussed several sectors in agriculture, fisheries, capacity building, sending Timorese workers to Hungary, investing in clean water, and several other investment sectors,” she said.

The Hungarian government has carried out the bilateral cooperation for the past twenty years and is committed to continuing to support Timor-Leste through cooperation in the investment sector which includes agriculture, fisheries, and other related sectors which will be implemented in the coming months.

At the same place, the Vice President of CCI-TL, Alberto de Araujo, appreciated this meeting and committed to cooperating with the Hungarian government and the private sector to invest in several sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and other related sectors which Hungary will implement in a few months coming.

“We are ready to cooperate with the private sector from Hungary in various investments, especially in the agriculture, fisheries, and capacity-building sectors to jointly build a strong Timor-Leste economy in the future,” he concluded.

Previously, the Hungarian Ambassador, Lilla L. Karsay, had submitted a letter of credentials to the President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, as a non-resident ambassador to carry out his diplomatic functions in Timor-Leste.
