DILI, february 3, 2023 – Parliament National will discuss, an amendment to the Electoral Law, on monday, said the President of Commission A, Justice, and Constitutional, Joaquim dos Santos “Boroluli”.
What is being discussed are changes in the opening hours of overseas voting centers, a guideline for journalists, in the coverage of parliamentary elections, voting in the nearest voting centers that they provide service, the obligation of voters to identify themselves only based on valid personal identification documents, and the creation of an election monitoring figure with a function similar to an election observer.
“The Judiciary and Constitutional Committee approved the proposed amendments to the Electoral Act and demoted it to the table of discussion, next Monday,” He said in a statement issued on Friday.
He also reminded that committee A and political parties with parliamentary seats have held public hearings with the Government to discuss the proposed amendments.
