DILI, 13 february 2023 (TATOLI)- Indonesian Minister of Laws and Human rights officially announces that Timor Leste is eligible for a free visa on arrival in Indonesian territory.
The Ministry of Laws and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Migration on 12 february 2023 announced that Timor-Leste has officially joined nine other countries for visa-free access to Indonesia.
“Countries, Governments of Special Administrative Regions of a Country, and Entities. Certain Subjects Visa-Free Visits namely, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam,” wrote in an issued circular seen by Tatoli today.
The circular stated that The purpose of issuing this circular letter is to monitor, control and evaluate the implementation of the Immigration Policy Regarding Visit Visa Services, Electronic Visa on Arrival (E-Voa), Visa on Arrival, and Free Visit Visa To Support Sustainable Tourism during the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic.
The entry mark in granting a Free Visa on Arrival refers to the entry sign and Stay Permit of the subject of a free visa visit, subject in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No 1 of 2020 concerning Amendments to the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 28 of 2018 concerning Immigration Stamps which apply as Visit Stay Permit with a maximum period of 30 (thirty) days and cannot be extended.
The issuance of a Visit Visa on Arrival as intended is carried out through immigration inspection under Article 23 and Article 26 letter b, Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 44 of 2015 for foreigners who are citizens of a State, Government of a Special Administrative Region of a Country, and Certain Subject Entities of Visit Visa on Arrival.
