“About 370 Timorese have already completed their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Brazil,” said the ambassador, in Dili.
He said Brazil continues to provide scholarships to Timorese students to study in Brazilian universities.
“From November 2022 until now, about 30 students have been accepted under Brazilian scholarships to do their postgraduate studies in Brazilian universities. We want to extend this type of scholarship to the undergraduate level,” Assis said.
He said that under the Brazilian scholarship known as Programa de Estudante-Convênio, Brazil offers more than 100 scholarships for Timorese every year, but saying only a few Timorese are able to apply.
