DILI, 27 february 2023 (TATOLI) – Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) promotes 11 gastronomy training centers in Timor Leste, the activity was realized through a mini exhibition at Timor Plaza.
The exhibition of training centers aims to introduce young people to the demand of the national and international labor market and the connectivity of employers with training centers.
“We invite hotel and restaurant employers to conduct training centers about youth training skills. We have training centers here on the professional skills of hospitality and tourism and there are also training centers on civil construction and agriculture”, said the Secretary of the Embassy of Australia in Timor-Leste, Penny Roberts.
Investing in professional skills to empower the economy and create job opportunities for the Timorese is essential, to ensure the Australian Embassy’s commitment to supporting training centers through APCT.
In the same venue, the Director of the National Institute of Manpower (INDMO), Isabel Fernandes de Lima, requested all the responsibility for the training, to provide skills training according to the demand of the labor market.
“They receive institutional and program accreditation certificates, so they provide the necessary training to respond to the job market,” said Fernandes.
According to Isabel de Lima, the qualified training of young people in the training centers helps respond to the demand of the labor market.
The 11 gastronomy groups are composed of three municipalities; Dili, Baucau, and Covolima municipalities.
So far, INDMO also awards accreditation certificates to 36 training centers across the country.
