DILI, 27 february 2023 (TATOLI)- International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) provided capacity building on Aviation Quality Control for 18 staff of the Civil Aviation Authority of Timor-Leste (AACTL).
Programme Coordinator of Senior Aviation Security Advisor, Tony Blackiston said It is a great moment for ICAO to share knowledge on quality control in civil aviation.
“ I am together with my collogue will share some subjects to enhancing AACTL staffs capacity on aviation quality control program,’’ Tony Blackiston told journalists, in Novo Tourism Hotel, Monday.
He added that in the two days, ICAO will be focused on sharing the four subjects including quality control needed for Aviation Control Quality, the person to do the quality control, and how and what is needed to follow up.
He added that in the next three days, it is required to focus on producing the sample of quality control.
Quality control is in two key areas having written papers works on quality control programs and the implementation of these quality programs: “It is very vital on the implementation of the program must be sustainable and systematic,”
“We also will introduce a new concept for National Aviation Control if it is necessary. It is important to help AACTL to work on effectiveness and efficacy on implementation,’’ He said.
President of AACTL, Eusébio Freitas said this is the second workshop organized by AACTL to invite ICAO to share the knowledge of Aviation Quality Control for Timor-Leste.
“We benefit from obtaining more knowledge of quality control. It helps us to do the work effectively and efficacy,’’ He said
Minister of Transportation and Communications (MTC), José Agostinho said it is important to moment for Timor-Leste through AACTL to have more comprehensive Aviation Quality control for President Nicolau Lobato International Airport.
Timor-Leste, President Nicolau Lobato International Airport has achieved 64% of the minimal requirement.
“We are working on the effort to achieve 100% on national aviation quality control. It is the preparative process to respond to the auditory process that will be carried out by ICA,’’ He said
The workshop is organized by AACTL on Aviation Quality Control within five days from 27 February 2023 to 3 March 2023.
Participants are composed of 16 Timorese staff and 2 Vietnamese total of 18 staff.
