Viqueque, 28 february 2023 (TATOLI)- Caritas Australia and Knu’a Haberan Communidade (KHC) groups provided financial support for women vulnerable groups to run their businesses on saving and loans in the Matahoi village, Uatulari post administrative Viqueque municipality.
“We receive support from Caritas Australia with a total budget of $500, this financial support help women’s group to do save and loan activity. We are planning to provide capacity building to help vulnerable women in financial management. The training is most required to enhance women’s ability and ensure responsibility on saving and loan program,’’
The executive director of KHC, Agusto Pinto told Journalists after distributing financial support for vulnerable women groups, in post administrative Uatulari room, Friday.
He added that this financial support the money will be used to provide loans to other people who are in need, or even for group members.
KHC also provided capacity building for women groups’ members to enhance women’s ability to write a budget report of income and outcome reports.
“Thus, the group’s members were able to well manage the money. This is the donation provided and will not return to the organization. It is required that women groups should increase their amount of money through savings and loan activity, which can give benefits to household needs,” said.
Pinto explained that this financial support is a priority for women but also can be benefited, men, the group’s members can invest in agriculture and others sectors as well.
Three groups are composed of three areas such as Uanama, Tatilari, and Aele areas. It is composed of 30 members. The total budget provided for each group is $500 and is worth 1.500.
This distribution of financial support is taken part by the representative of the Uatulari Administrator, local authority, and group members.
