DILI, 23 march 2023 (TATOLI)—Director of Permatil, Ego Lemos inform, that in 2023, PERMATIL will organize a Perma-Youth Camp at the municipal level.
This Perma Youth Camp aims to bring together youth from all over Timor-Leste to facilitate critical thinking on sustainable environmental, social, and economic issues within the brand community.
“We have the initiative to organize a Perma-Youth Camp to increase youth’s knowledge about natural resource management and related activities and support youth in local farmers. We will also promote environmental and climate change awareness and enable participants to exchange experiences and important actions to develop local knowledge through workshops, training, discussions, and live demonstrations,” Director of Permatil Timor-Leste, Ego Lemos told TATOLI Agency in City8, Manleana.
According to Lemos, the 2022 Perma-Youth Camp was organized in Ermera and Manatuto while this year it will be organized in three municipalities, namely in Aileu, Baucau, and Oecusse with a target of more than 600 youth participants.
“Perma-Youth Camp 2023 will target more than 200 youths for each municipality, where Aileu will be held on 5 – 9 June, Baucau (Sagadate, Laga) on 25 – 29 July, and Oecusse on 21 – 26 August, The program highlighted main activities including teaching them about water conservation and this year we are targeting young people,” he said.
This Perma-Youth Camp was held at the national level, first in 2008, in Taci-tolu, Dili; the 2nd in 2011, in Remexio, Aileu; the 3rd year 2012, in Laga, Baucau, 4th on 9 November 2015, at aldeia Fatisia, Buklelo such, Laulara Administration Post, 5th Perma-Youth National Camp, Aileu City on 25 November 2018 in Maubisse, Ainaro.
