DILI, 24 march 2023 ( TATOLI)– The Secretariat State of Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE) today briefed another 34 Timorese workers before departing for work in South Korea.
The Acting General National Director of SEFOPE, Jacinto Barros Gusmão, said that this briefing was carried out to provide advice and information about the work system in South Korea, to Timorese workers before departing to South Korea.
“I urge all of you to perform your work discipline and perform your good dignity as the citizens of Timor – Leste, respect your employer by communicating well and complying with all applicable laws and regulations in South Korea,” the Acting General Director of SEFOPE Jacinto Barros Gusmão told reporters on the farewell ceremony together with the parents and family of Timorese workers at Timor – Lodge Comoro Dili, on friday.
Jacinto Barros Gusmão on this occasion appealed to Timorese workers to take this opportunity to learn more new skills and also save money before returning to Timor-Leste.
SEFOPE also appealed to parents to provide moral support to the workers after working in South Korea.
At the same place, a Representative from the South Korean Embassy in Timor – Leste, Yang Joo Yoom, appealed to all Timorese workers to learn more Korean language to be able to do the communication with their company as well as friends.
Yang also appealed to Timorese workers to fulfill the legal regulations and prioritize working discipline in South Korea.
