DILI, 06 may 2022 (TATOLI)— Pope Francis advised all the people in Timor-Leste to take decisions that bring prosperity and peace to all families and the country ahead of the 2023 Parliamentary Elections.
The statement was conveyed by Pope Francis to Mgr. Cardinal Virgílio do Carmo da Silva, SDB, Bishop of Maliana Diocese, Dom Norberto do Amaral, and Bishop-elect of Baucau, Leandro Maria Alves in a meeting held at the Vatican.
“Dear brothers and sisters in Timor-Leste, I have met your bishops here, and they are all very bright, and they tell me about the Christian life, how you work, how you try to be better like strong people. I wish you all well when you have to choose to make a decision. I believe that you know how to make good decisions, to bring prosperity and peace to all families and countries,” Pope Francis said.
Pope Francis also asked all the people of Timor-Leste to instill human and family values within themselves for the Grace of God.
“First, I wish to convey peace to all of you. Before getting peace, instill in yourself values such as humanity, kinship, and especially living in harmony. Because, the perfect harmony of the grace of God, which is given to you to move forward,” said the Pope.
The Pope also delivered his greetings and gifts from the heart to the TL people and asked Christians to keep praying.
