DILI, 06 june 2023 (TATOLI)— Timor-Leste’s athlete, Teofilo Freitas hauls gold medals at the international ASEAN Para Games 2023 which was held in Cambodia recently.
“I feel very delighted because I made a gold medal to our beloved country, Timor-Leste,” Teofilo told Tatoli during an online interview.
Recalling that so far Teofilo has collected four medals for Timor-Leste because, since 2018 at the ASEAN Paralympic event in Jakarta, Teofilo has been the main winner to receive a gold medal against 43 other countries.
In addition, in 2022, Teofilo remains in his position at the ASEAN Para Games event which was held in Solo, Indonesia, and has won two gold medals after competing with 10 other countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam.
In Solo Indonesia, Teofilo competed in the 1,500-meter running distance and both 400 – 800 meter running distances and remains the main winner.
The victory of this disabled athlete was obtained by competing in a 1,500-meter running event against 10 countries in ASEAN.
