DILI, 7 june 2023 (TATOLI)- Petroleum and Mineral Authority (AMPN) clarified that Timor-Leste temporarily lacks fuel for one week, due to the delay in the transportation process.

Director of Downstream, Nelson De Jesus said The reason for the delay was due to the long squeeze and ships for flues loading in Singapore and the ships are not based on a regular schedule.

“We are observing that since last Sunday until today, it is lack of fuel storage. The main cause was due to the transportation of the fuel being delayed,’’ Director of Downstream, Nelson De Jesus told journalists in the ANMP office, Thursday.

He added that AMPN’s two filling stations in Dili including International Fuel Station and Esperansa Timor Oan (ETO) will manage to distribute the fuel until Sunday.

The only remaining gasoline in the International fuel station is 125 tons of gasoline and 205 tons remain in the ETO fuel station while the remainder is 330 tons.

Both the International fuel station and ETO fuel station will manage to distribute 25 tons of gasoline every single day since the number will not respond to all fuel stations across Dili.

De Jesus said the ETO fuels cargo will arrived in Dili next Sunday with a total of 2.700 tons or 2.600.000 litters of fuels. However, International fuel station cargo will arrive on Wednesday, but no clue about the quantity.

He said two between 21 flues stations across Dili town have recently close, while the rest 12 filling stations remain open with only diesel fuel available at these stations.
