“The New fuel tank arrived this morning, at Hera port, and will be distributed as soon as possible to ensure fuel quantity meet the targets,” explained Nilton Gusmao this Monday.

Nilton Gusmão revealed that this stocks, they can meet people’s needs for 45 to 50 days, but with increased demand, they can only last for 35 days.

He also thanked all media members for providing information and the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) for maintaining public order and strict security at every filling station.

“Thanks to all who have provided help including journalists and the PNTL. ETO will try to maximize service and it is hoped that the same conditions will not be repeated, “he said.

While Tatoli observed that, this morning car drivers and motorcycle riders have had to wait for hours in a very long queue to be able to fill up their vehicles, causing traffic.

Downstream Director of the National Authority of Petroleum and Mineral Authority (NAMP), Nelson de Jesus also confirmed that many tankers have been lining up since morning to receive fuel distribution.

“I was at Hera and saw the distribution process. Usually, it has to wait about 30 minutes for it to be released from the ship to the storage area and has to wait up to 30 minutes before being distributed to each tanker. What I see here is that every truck is lining up to receive the fuel,” he explained.

Nelson de Jesus hopes that after the distribution is carried out at every fuel station in Timor-Leste, it is expected that it will immediately reduce the long queues that have occurred over the past week.
