DILI, June 14, 2023 (TATOLI)- The State Secretariat of Vocational Training and Employment (SoSPVE) together with the South Korean Human Resource Department in Timor-Leste (SKHRD) has initiated the EPS-TOPIK exam for 5089 Timorese workers candidates.
The announcement letter accessed by Tatoli stated that 5,089 job candidates specifically in the factory sector began taking the EPS-TOPIK (Employment Permit System – Test in Proficiency in Korean) exam from June 13, 2023, to July 26, 2023.
The exam itself is given directly by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Service of Korea in Timor-Leste with SoSPVE through the National Directorate of Foreign Workers (DNFW).
The exam will be carried out systematically and divided into four groups every day with 40 people for each group at the CBT Test Room, Becora.
The EPS program on sending Timorese workers to South Korea has been implemented in Timor-Leste since 2009, so far there are over 5,000 Timorese workers have been sent to work in South Korea.
Total of 5000 workers over 3000 workers working in the fishing industry, around 2000 factories, and 126 workers working in agriculture factory.
