DILI,26 june 2023 (TATOLI)– The Project Manager of the Company of Comunity Housing Limited (CHL), Elton Regras, said a shortage and delay in materials supply lead to a delay in the construction project of four soccer fields in Dili.

“The implementation project of four soccer fields in Becora Culau, Bintang Bidau Toko Baru, Kampung Alor, and the soccer field of Malinamuk, Kampu Baru was getting slow because all material construction including; pipe perforate, artificial grass, laminated glasses which have ordered from abroad is arriving late to Timor – Leste,” said the Project Manager of CHaL, Elton Regras, to TATOLI in his office Fatuhada, Dili on monday.

He said, despite the project implementation is getting slower, CHL ensure the project will be finished according to the contract.

“Currently we are waiting for the material from Indonesia and Japan Therefore when these materials arrive in Timor – Leste, our technicians will begin the installation,” he said.

The Manager of CHL Hilton Regras informed that the construction project of four soccer fields had reached 28 %.

So far CHL received the contract from the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sport ( SSYS) and the Government of South Korea through Korea International Cooperation Agency ( KOICA) with a budget wroth $ 2.4. These four projects were signed on 7 October 2022. At the moment the projects are under construction for 18 months and based on the plan these projects will be handed over by the CHL to the Government of Timor – Leste in March 2024.
