DILI, 27 June 2023 (TATOLI)—The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) has launched an integrated information platform system to ensure a faster and more effective data collection process in completing domestic project information.

Launch for the unified website consisting of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) https://mop.gov.tl/; Project Management Information System (SIGP) https://sigp.mop.gov.tl and Project Geographic Information System (SIG-P) https://gis.mop.gov.tl,

“This new system aims to eliminate delays in the administrative process of a project and facilitate accurate information between MOP, project holders, and other related parties,” explained the Minister of Public Works, Abel Pires at the MOP Caicoli office, Tuesday

He said this new system was already integrated with the ADN (National Development Authority) information system, therefore the data collection process would not be carried out twice at MOP and ADN.

The system was developed using the Application Programming Interface (API) by a Timro-Leste company called Kinos Leading Innovation Technology at a cost of around $60,000 to $70,000 and it is hoped that in the future it can be integrated with systems from CNA (National Procurement Commission) and the Infrastructure Fund.

“This was motivated by the information system from ADN and we appreciate developers from our own country because previously MOP was offered at very high prices of up to $800,000,” he said.

He hopes that this new system will be able to support the new government that will lead the MOP to have complete facilities and provides added value in completing data.

The Executive Director of ADN, Mariano Renato Monteiro da Cruz, considers this system to be very important because MOP has been established for 20 years, but this will be meaningless if data is not entered in stages.

“This will be useless if the staff doesn’t actively enter data in the system, so we don’t accuse or blame each other for any technical error that occurred, because everything is completed,” he said.

The Integrated Information System is an easier way for users to carry out academic administrative activities and share data.
