DILI 19 July 2023 (TATOLI)- Global Fund Division of Minister Health together with relevant health entities organized for two-days training to discuss Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen plant management.
The main purpose of the training is to prepare health staff for the investment of the Oxygen plant that will be realized in Timor-Leste.
“The training will help technical professionals and managers to identify some important steps to realize Oxygen’s plant investment and also the function of the SPA in Timor-Leste. We are also will discuss the operation and total budget that will be used,’’ The Administrator Division Global Fund of Minister of MoH, Noe Gaspar Pinto Da Silva told Journalists in Hotel Novo Turizmu, Lecidere, Wednesday
He added Global Fund also has provided the maintenance for spare parts, which is ensured the Oxygen sustainable management. Global Fund has provided the five years guarantee to ensure the function of the ongoing Oxygen stock.
“This training helps us to have teamwork to ensure the Oxygen sustainable to avoid oxygen running out of stock in the emergency or crucial situation in the hospital,’’ He said
Silva said the idea designed by the Ministry of Health and Global Fund to improve the Oxygen supply system in Timor-Leste was a great idea, adding that normally the import of oxygen products is not responding to the Timor-Leste requirement procedures.
“Global Fund will ensure the PSA investment will produce over 200 to 300 Cylinder oxygen supply to all health facilities, Referral, and National hospitals,”
In the same place, the Representative of the Minister of Health, Dr. Nilton da Silva said it is required good quality oxygen to respond to the patient needs in every health post.
“We understand that Oxygen also has standards for quality. We should identify the oxygen on its purity and must fulfilled 95% quantity; it is based on the World Health Organization recommendation,”
So far Global Fund has provided 700.000 USD for the PSA Oxygen Plan investment, and possible to increase the budget if necessary.
It is known that the two days training is conducted by Build Health International Consultant (BHIC)
