DILI, 17 august 2023 (TATOLI)— The new Representative of the United States Embassy (U.S.) in Timor-Leste, Marc Weinstock, said that his country wishes to continue to strengthen cooperative relations with Timor-Leste in various sectors.
“We wish to conduct the cooperation that has been done during this time and will continue to do the cooperation in the fields of security, development, defense, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) program, and cooperation in other fields. Thus, we will provide services through the program implementation and also with the government and all parties in Timor-Leste,” the Chargé dAffaires Weinstock told reporters after meeting with the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, at the Presidential Palace on thursday.
The new Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Timor-Leste, Marc Weinstock, emphasized that the U.S. Government wants to focus more on strengthening cooperation relations in Timor-Leste by supporting the various sectors.
“We discuss the cooperation relationship between the United States and Timor-Leste; during the meeting, I also introduce myself to the President as the new Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy in this country,” Marc Weinstock said.
He added that he and his family had just arrived in Timor-Leste and really admired the people and culture of this country.
Meanwhile, at the meeting, the Heads of State also strongly supported the cooperation between the Government of Timor-Leste and the U.S.
Marc Weinstock is the new Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy in Timor-Leste to replace the old Chargé d’Affaires Tom Daley, whose diplomatic mission ended on august 12, 2023, in Timor – Leste.
