DILI, 04 october 2023 (TATOLI) – The Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL) will provide modern financial literacy training to Timorese entrepreneurs to help them develop their businesses.
The training aims to equip the Timorese entrepreneurs with modern Financial Literacy skills which will enable them to grow and protect their business.
According to BCTL’s Governor, Hélder Lopes, financial literacy training is crucial for entrepreneurs to have the capacity to manage businesses sustainably, adding the development of Timor-Leste’s economy depends on the initiative and dynamism of the private sector, including the entrepreneurship and businessmen.
Lopes believes that financial literacy training will not only make it possible to understand and effectively utilize various asset management skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investment but will also equip its entrepreneurs with knowledge of the entire value chain in financial management.
He is committed to creating a model of a financial entrepreneur that follows the most modern procedures of developed societies in which the financial markets are managed professionally.
Financial literacy empowers entrepreneurs to identify potential risks and take proactive measures to minimize their impact on the business, such as managing debt, diversifying revenue streams, and establishing emergency funds.
