DILI, 11 december 2023 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTC) in partnership with the UNDP offered incubation training to nurture Timorese youth to be capable of developing business plans to open their business.
A total of 102 young Timorese have been registered to attend the training.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Filipus Nino Pereira, said that the training program would give young Timorese the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to run their businesses.
“Incubation training is crucial for equipping young people with the necessary skills to develop their businesses, which will contribute to the country’s economic development,” said Minister Pereira in Dili.

He said that young people play an essential role in the nation’s development process and economic diversification: “Young people should therefore be equipped with the knowledge and skills to start their businesses.”
Incubation training covers various topics: business management, credit, market supply, supply chain management, etc.
Young entrepreneurs are encouraged to access the government’s soft loan program to grow their businesses in various fields, including agriculture, fishing, horticulture, tourism, commerce, and others.
