DILI, 22 december 2023 (TATOLI) – Business Registration and Verification Service (SERVE,I.P), in collaboration with the Tax and Customs Authorities, has generated more than US$180 million in revenue in the last decade.
The executive director of SERVE, I.P, Florêncio Sanches, said that of the 46,000 registered companies, 130 of the international companies contributed US$180 million to national revenues through taxes.
“From 2013 to november 2023, we managed to generate US$180 million to the National Treasury,” Florencio Sanches told Tatoli, at his office, in Dili.
He reported that from january to november 2023, SERVE, I.P. registered more than 5,000 companies.
“In collaboration with the tax and customs authorities, every year we generate up to US$200,000 in revenue,” said Sanches.
He added: “Instead of relying heavily on the petroleum fund, these revenues could also contribute to national development.”
Companies registered at SERVE, I.P. are made up of various categories, including sole traders, privately owned enterprises, state-owned companies, and limited liability companies.
