DILI, 03 may 2024 (TATOLI) – The Investment and Export Promotion Agency, I.P (TradeInvest Timor-Leste) organized a technical meeting to discuss the Special Investment Agreement (AEI) between the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL) and Discovery Business Industrial Zone Lda.
Based on the Private Investment Law No. 15/2017, provide opportunities and allow qualified and eligible investors to obtain the right to apply for the Declaration of Benefits (DB) and the Special Investment Agreement (AEI) for their investment project in Timor-Leste.
On november 30, 2023, the Government through the Minister Coordinator of Economic Affairs (MKAE) assigned a Declaration of Benefits to the Discovery Business Industrial Zone Lda to carry out its investment activities.
TradeInvest Timor-Leste organized a technical meeting to give an opportunity to the competent directorates and relevant agencies to provide their technical analysis, contributing ideas and recommendations in accordance with their respective competencies and regulations in force, before the Government and the investor proceed to sign the Special Investment Agreement (AEI).
The Australian based company Discovery Business Industrial Zone Lda, which is planned in the first phase will invest in the alcohol beverage processing industry and the second phase will invest the Property Development (Real State) in Timor-Leste with an investment capital of US$8 million to US$15 million.
The technical meeting was led by the Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste Arcanjo da Silva accompanied by the Coordinator-General of office of the Minister Coordinator of Economic Affairs (MKAE) Jorge Martins and participated by the relevant institution representatives such as SERVE, ANLA, Tax Authority, MPIE, EDTL, Migration Services, Ministry of Health, MCI, National Directorate of Building, IQTL, BTL, Customs and IGT.
