DILI, 15 july 2024 (TATOLI) – The Technical Secretariat of Electoral Administration (STAE), in collaboration with the National Commission for Elections (CNE), began implementing the Biometric Voter Registration System (BVRS) in Timor-Leste.
The BVRA is designed to generate clean voter lists and support the transparent and fair electoral process.
“Today we started implementing the Biometric Voter Registration System in Dili. STAE will coordinate with the municipal authorities to raise awareness of the implementation of the BVRS,” said STAE’s National Director of Database Management, Informatics and Information Technology, Túlia de Jesus, in Caicoli, Dili.
STAE had allocated US$600,000 for the implementation Biometric Voter Registration System.
