DILI, 31 july 2024 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers approved the Financial Contribution Agreement between Timor-Leste and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) Requalification project.
The Financial Contribution Agreement to be signed by the Minister of Finance, Santina José Rodrigues F. Viegas Cardoso.
Under this agreement, Japan will make a financial contribution of around US$ 19.6 million.
This funding aims to strengthen the capacity to provide services and improve the quality of medical care by building new facilities and supplying medical equipment for the Guido Valadares National Hospital.
The project includes the construction of a five-story building, which will house new pediatric and intensive care units. The new building is scheduled for completion in April 2027.
