DILI, 02 september 2024 (TATOLI) – In Dili, the Bairro-Pité Clinic’s manager of tuberculosis (TB), José Maia Soares, reported that 314 cases of TB and five fatalities were reported between the beginning of january and august 31.

“We recorded 314 cases of TB since the beginning of january to 31 august, of the 314 cases including seven children aged 8 years and 5 fatalities,” Program Manager José Maia Soares told TATOLI in Bairo-Pite Clinic, Dili, on monday.

Out of the 314 TB cases, he clarified that 17 patients underwent treatment at the Institute Secular Maun Alin iha Cristo (Ismaic), while the remaining patients continued to receive treatment at the Bairro-Pité Clinic on a regular basis.

“TB patients are required to fulfill the schedule of drinking the medicine regularly during 6–9 months to recover from their disease; if not, it will cause fatality. Bairro-Pité Clinic is ready to assist and provide the service for you,” he concluded.
