SINGAPORE, 03 december 2024 (TATOLI) – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCT-TL) and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) signed a cooperation agreement on economic development.
The cooperation agreement paves the way for the private sectors of the two parties to work together in specific business areas to foster economic growth.
The agreement was signed by the Vice-President of CCI-TL, Hergui Lina Alves, and her Singaporean counterpart, Lennon Tan.
According to Hergui Lina Laves, the agreement aims to promote partnerships between Timorese and Singaporean companies with a view to exploring investment opportunities in various areas and exporting local products to Singapore.
“We hope that, with this agreement, Singaporean entrepreneurs will be able to work in partnership with our entrepreneurs to export local products and gain access to the international market,” she said on the sidelines of the signing of the agreement at the Pan Pacific Singapore.
Lennon Tan said that Singapore is an experienced country in the areas of renewable energies and infrastructure and will therefore be able to help Timor-Leste’s companies gain access to the international market.
