DILI, 03 december 2024 (TATOLI) – On december 3rd, 2024, a signing ceremony for grant contracts for two projects was held at the Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste.
Two local NGOs will implement the projects. Millennial Youth Association (MYA) will construct a health post in Humboe Village, and Alfa Star will construct a water supply system in Hatete, Manusae Village, both in Ermera Municipality.
The assistance is provided through Japan’s development assistance scheme “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).”
The Government of Japan has been actively implementing a wide range of projects in Timor-Leste, from large-scale infrastructure development and industrial support to smaller-scale projects that directly benefit local communities. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Japan’s cooperation for the country.
Samuel Marçal, the Minister of Public Works, Adelia Maria M. Barreto, Director General for Health Project Management Unit, Jose Martinho Dos Santos Soares, President of the Municipal Authority of Ermera, and the community leaders attended the ceremony.
