DILI, 04 december 2024 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta welcomed Mundarath Mukundan and Radhkumari Mukundanny in a significant meeting that bridged past humanitarian connections and present diplomatic relations.
The encounter was a follow-up to their recent meeting in India, highlighting the ongoing friendship.
Reflecting on historical connections, Radhkumari had worked in Viqueque 24 years ago, during one of Timor-Leste’s most challenging periods. The President recalled his own experiences working with the United Nations in 1999 during the country’s tumultuous struggle for independence, creating a narrative of shared humanitarian commitment.
Radhkumari described the visit as a nostalgic journey, revisiting a region where He had previously contributed significant humanitarian work. The meeting symbolized the enduring bonds between international supporters and Timor-Leste’s journey of nation-building.
