DILI, 10 january 2025 (TATOLI) – Noémio Mateus Soares Falcão has today been sworn in as the new President of Timor-Leste News Agency (TATOLI, I.P), replacing his predecessor Manuel Pinto who has been served this position since 2020.

Falcão was sworn in to the post of President of TATOLI, I.P. for a four-year term, from 1 january 2025 to 31 december 2029.

Secretary of State for Social Communication, Expedito Dias Ximenes, in his speech, congratulated, on behalf of the Government, the newly sworn-in leader of TATOLI, I.P., and emphasized the importance of the institution becoming the best news source in the country.

Ximenes expressed hope that under the leadership of Noémio Falcão, TATOLI, I.P. would strengthen its position as a “clearing house” for various information circulating in the country.

He also urged the new president to respect and guard state secrets, and interests.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Falcão swore that he would perform his duties honestly and diligently to develop the institution.

Falcão also promised to put the interests of the institution before his own.

On december 24, 2024, the Government of Timor-Leste, through the meeting of the Council of Ministers nominated Noémio Mateus Soares Falcão as the new President of TATOLI, I.P.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the conference room of the Ministry of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in Dili, on ianuary 10, 2024, in the presence of the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Expedito Dias Ximenes, the Secretary of State for Equality, Elvina de Sousa Carvalho, directors, media owners, and journalists.

TATOLI, I.P is a Timorese national news agency, established by the Government of Timor-Leste in july 2016.
