DILI, 06 february 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta joined world leaders, Nobel laureates, and distinguished guests at the second edition of the Human Fraternity Majlis, held at the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.
The event, inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, marked the sixth anniversary of the historic Document on Human Fraternity signing.
In his intervention at the gathering, President Horta emphasized the universal significance of human fraternity, saying, “Human fraternity is a shared mission for all of us present here today and indeed for all of humanity.”
The Head of State underscored the importance of unity across generations and nations, emphasizing patient listening, empathy for others’ suffering, and respectful communication as essential elements in promoting human solidarity and coexistence.
The prestigious forum, organized by the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in collaboration with several key institutions, brought together changemakers from 20 countries to exchange ideas on addressing global challenges to human fraternity. The event reinforced the UAE’s commitment to upholding human fraternity as a guiding principle of peace and coexistence, with discussions focusing on diplomacy, inclusive societies, and youth empowerment in advancing these universal values.
