DILI, 26 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The Technical Monitoring Committee (CTA-Portuguese) of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP-Portuguese) Games, led by Jorge Carvalho, has begun inspecting sports infrastructure for the upcoming CPLP Games, which will be held from July 17 to 27 in Timor-Leste.
The CTA Inspection Team evaluated stadiums, modular courts, playgrounds, transportation, venues and sports equipment.
The Secretary of State for Arts and Culture, Jorge Soares Cristovão, who is responsible for the overall coordination of the events, stated that renovations on the Dili Municipal Stadium will soon begin in preparation for the CPLP Games.
To ensure the success of the Games, Cristovão held coordination meetings with the CTA and key ministries, including the Ministry of Health (MoH), to discuss the country’s preparations for the event.
During his meeting on Tuesday with the Secretary of State for Arts and Culture, Jorge Soares Cristovão, the Vice-Minister for Institutional Strengthening in Health, José dos Reis Magno, emphasized MoH’s readiness to provide immediate care and support to athletes, officials, and spectators during the event.
“MoH will work closely with other organizations, including CVTL, to deploy medical professionals—such as doctors, nurses, and paramedics—to hotels, stadiums, and volleyball and tennis courts to provide immediate care and support to athletes, officials, and spectators,’ said Magno
In addition, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has previously pledged to ensure detailed planning and coordination for the smooth movement of athletes and spectators during the events, including receiving the athletes at the airports.
