DILI, 08 March 2025 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, decided to authorize expenditure on the program on ‘implementation of the Tasi Mane project on the Country’s Southern Coast’ in the amount of US$40,500,000.
Located on the southern coast of the country, it is expected to be the largest oil and gas development in Timor-Leste, aiming to foster a self-sufficient economy and enable the nation to thrive independently.
The Tasi Mane project sets out the creation of three industrial poles on the south coast of the country, covering the grouping of the Suai supply platform, the grouping of the refinery and petrochemical industry of Betano and the clustering of the Beaço liquefied natural gas facility, which later will be the basis of Timor-Leste’s oil industry.
The Tasi Mane Project is a major strategic initiative of the Government of Timor-Leste spanning a wide range of economic impacts at national and regional level and at the same time providing direct economic benefits from Timor-Leste’s natural resources.
