DILI, 12 March 2025 (TATOLI) – Visimitra, in collaboration with Cisco, NTT Data, and TIC Timor, organized a one-day workshop on ‘Technology Foresight: Navigating the Future of GenAI,” at Timor Plaza, in Dili, today.
The one-day workshop aimed to equip Timor-Leste’s IT staff from public institutions with essential skills to contribute to the modernization of government services, operations, and citizen engagement in the country.
The workshop helped IT staff to explore solutions tailored to support Timor-Leste’s digital economy, gain practical insights on leveraging AI and cybersecurity to drive growth, and network with industry leaders and technology experts.
Cisco’s Sales Director, Andris Masengi said that as Timor-Leste accelerates towards its Timor Digital 2032 vision, harnessing advanced technologies like AI, cybersecurity, and data-driven solutions is essential to drive innovation and sustainable growth.
He said, therefore, that the workshop provided opportunities for Timor-Leste’s IT staff to explore how Generative AI, Cloud AI, Cybersecurity, Data Center Networking, and collaboration solutions are reshaping industries and empowering businesses to thrive in a connected world.
TIC’s Infrastructure Director, Henreque Fulgencio Guterres, was grateful to the partners, especially NTT Data and Cisco, for sharing their valuable experience and skills on digital transformation with Timor-Leste’s IT staff.
“This is a good opportunity for us to foster our link with IT experts from Indonesia in order to improve our digital transformation,” said Guterres.
More than 50 IT staff from private and public institutions, including the National Parliament, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transportation and Communication, and Loro’sa’e National University (UNTL), attended the workshop
