DILI, 20 March 2025 (TATOLI) – The Government has decided to authorize an expenditure of US$2.46 million to carry out additional work on the construction of the Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) building at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV-Tetun). The proposal was presented by the Health Minister, Elia dos Reis Amaral.
The Council of Minister also delegated the authority to Minister Elia to sign the contract amendment for the execution of the works with the company responsible for the project.
“The need for this contractual amendment and the corresponding additional expenditure is due to adaptations to new structural and regulatory standards, the correction of technical issues identified in the design review, and the implementation of improvements to ensure greater efficiency and safety in the hospital infrastructure,” a statement said.
The additional work includes the installation of an air conditioning system that reduces the risk of contamination, an advanced wastewater treatment system for safe reuse, and the enhancement of thermal and structural insulation.
