DILI, 16 April 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s President Jose Ramos Horta met with representatives from Revolta Alta Graça (RAG), organizers of an upcoming international boxing competition planned for August 2025.
Led by Xander Maria Almeida da Costa Serrano, the team discussed their vision for a cross-border event that will feature participants from Indonesia and, potentially, the Philippines participants under Manny Pacquiao Management.
During a post-meeting interview, Xander Serrano revealed that preparations for the event have reached 50% completion.
The organizers plan to engage with the National Boxing Federation for support and collaboration, while funding will primarily come from private sector sponsors.
The competition aims to provide Timorese boxers with a platform to showcase their talents on an international stage. This event also represents a significant opportunity for our local athletes and will strengthen sporting ties with our neighbors. The inclusion of boxers from Indonesia highlights the cross-border nature of this initiative.
