DILI, 20 July 2025 (TATOLI) – The Portugal men`s beach volleyball team defeated Cape Verde in two sets in the 2025 CPLP Games at the Dili Municipal Stadium, on Sunday, 20 July 2025.
Portuguese players Tito and Luís Filipe have successfully defeated Cape Verde’s team Denzel Ramos and Micael Barboja in the CPLP Games beach volley preliminary round with a score of 2-0.
The Portuguese team took the first set convincingly, winning 21–12.
In the second set, they maintained their dominance, closing out the match with a 21–10 victory over Cape Verde.
The captain of Portugal’s men’s beach volleyball team, Tito expressed his satisfaction with the victory and pride in representing his country at the CPLP Games, which are being held for the first time on Timor-Leste’s soil.
He acknowledged that both teams gave their best during the match, adding that in any competition, one team must win and the other must accept defeat.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we were confident the victory would be ours — and we made it happen,” he said.
Portugal Men’s Team is scheduled to face São Tomé and Príncipe on Monday, July 21, 2025, while Cape Verde will play against São Tomé and Príncipe on Tuesday, 22 July, 2025.
