DILI, 23 July 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, received the Vice President of Portugal’s ANATEL Foundation, Eduarda Maria Gomes Marques, at the Presidential Palace for a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Timor-Leste and the Portuguese institution.
The meeting’s main focus was on identifying new collaboration opportunities in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism, areas considered strategic for the development and promotion of Timorese youth.
During the meeting, Eduarda Marques expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted that the meeting “opened important doors,” expressing confidence that the proposed joint initiatives will bring concrete benefits for both countries in the near future.
This dialogue takes place in the context of Timor-Leste’s recent hosting of the 12th CPLP Games and the Conference on Ethics in Sport, events in which the ANATEL Foundation participated at the invitation of the Timorese government. T
he foundation now aims to capitalize on these experiences to develop sustainable cooperation projects that integrate the principles of ethics, teamwork, and the promotion of sports as a tool for social inclusion and citizenship.
