DILI, 10 december 2025 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers has approved a draft resolution authorising a financial contribution of US$500,000 to the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre).
The proposal was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Bendito dos Santos Freitas.
The contribution will support regional humanitarian response operations following recent natural disasters that have affected several ASEAN Member States.
It will also help strengthen disaster preparedness and cooperation across the region.
The Government said the funding aims to reinforce Timor-Leste’s commitment to regional solidarity and collective resilience in times of crisis.
